This research area commenced in 2000 and was ratified in 2008.
The Sound Environments section addresses all aspects of sound and acoustics in installation and public space contexts. Core practical work to date has focused on the design, composition and construction of public space sound installations OSSTS, Barely and Agora. Additional areas investigate acoustic modifiers of environmental sound and noise and the interaction of people with and within these contexts.
