Jeffrey Turko teaches in EUNIC Studio in Johannesburg and delivers Lecture on OCEAN at IFAS - 21-25 November 2011

From 21 to 25 November Jeffrey Turko will participate in the EUNIC-SA (European Union Institutes for Culture - South Africa) Architecture Studio: Recycle the City, an approach to sustainable architecture. He will also deliver a lecture on the work of OCEAN Des Res Ass. at IFAS (French Institute of South Africa) on 23 November.

OCEAN Seminar 2011 to take place on 24 - 26 October at AHO - Oslo School of Architecture and Design

This years OCEAN seminar will take place at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 October and will focus on OCEAN's next 5 year plan of the development of the association and its interdisciplinary research.

OCEAN member Jeffrey Turko takes up Senior Lectureship at the University of Brighton - 01 September 2011

On 01 September 2011 OCEAN Design Research Association member Jeffrey P. Turko accepted a full-time Senior Lecturer Post from the University of Brighton. His duties will be leading Master of Architecture design studios, spearheading the development of Integrated Computing Technology for the entire architecture program, as well as contributing to the University of Brighton's Centre for Research and Development.

OCEAN researcher crosses fields - August 2011

Composer Dr. Natasha Barrett, member of the OCEAN Design Research Association, has started a part-time position at the Ulstein Group shipyard in connection with the research project collaboration between the shipyard and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. OCEAN's research area Systems Oriented Design is one of the central theoretical and methodological frameworks for this research and OCEAN member Prof. Dr. Birger Sevaldson is leading the project at AHO. OCEAN provided the exciting transdisciplinary networking opportunities for a musical composer to be engaged in a design research project with a ship-building company.

The new Research Centre for Architecture and Tectonics directed by Prof. Michael U. Hensel is inaugurated at AHO – Oslo School of Architecture and Design.

The aim of the Research Centre of Architecture and Tectonics at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design is to conduct interdisciplinary and integrated research by design concerning questions concerning the design, making and consequences of the human made and more specifically the built environment

The Research Center for Architecture and Tectonics Inauguration Symposium Identifying Research Areas for Architecture from an Interdisciplinary and Integrative Perspective will commence at 9-00 am at the AHO Auditorium.
